Ryzen 7 3800X vs Ryzen Z1 Extreme specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 7 3800X is faster than the Ryzen Z1 Extreme. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen Z1 Extreme in all gaming tests too.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 7 3800X has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen Z1 Extreme. Despite this, the Ryzen Z1 Extreme has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Ryzen Z1 Extreme outputs less heat than Ryzen 7 3800X thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen Z1 Extreme has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Ryzen 7 3800X. Despite this, the Ryzen 7 3800X has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen Z1 Extreme.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 3800X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
