Ryzen 7 3800X vs Ryzen 7 6800U specs and performance

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 7 6800U is faster than the Ryzen 7 3800X. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 3800X in all gaming tests too.

Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 7 3800X has a significantly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 7 6800U. Despite this, the Ryzen 7 6800U has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Ryzen 7 6800U outputs less heat than Ryzen 7 3800X thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, both these CPUs have the same amount of L2 cache. The Ryzen 7 3800X also has significantly more L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 3800X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
