Ryzen 7 3800X vs Ryzen 7 5700X specs and performance

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 7 5700X is faster than the Ryzen 7 3800X. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 3800X in all gaming tests too.

Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 7 3800X has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 7 5700X. Despite this, the Ryzen 7 5700X has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Ryzen 7 5700X outputs less heat than Ryzen 7 3800X thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. When comparing cache sizes, these CPUs have an identical amount of L2 cache and L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 3800X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
