Ryzen 7 3800X vs Core i9-9900KF benchmarks

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i9-9900KF performs better than the Ryzen 7 3800X. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 3800X in all gaming tests too.

Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 7 3800X has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i9-9900KF. Despite this, the Core i9-9900KF has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i9-9900KF outputs less heat than Ryzen 7 3800X thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Ryzen 7 3800X has more L2 cache than the Core i9-9900KF. The Ryzen 7 3800X also has significantly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 3800X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
