Ryzen 7 3800X vs Core i7-11700KF specs and performance

In our benchmarks, the Core i7-11700KF beats the Ryzen 7 3800X in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 3800X in all gaming tests too.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 3800X has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-11700KF. Despite this, the Core i7-11700KF has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 7 3800X CPU outputs less heat than a Core i7-11700KF CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The data shows that both these CPUs have same sized L2 caches. The Ryzen 7 3800X also has significantly more L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 3800X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
