Ryzen 7 3800X vs Core i5-11600K benchmarks

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-11600K is faster than the Ryzen 7 3800X. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 3800X in all gaming tests too.

With info from our database, we find that the Ryzen 7 3800X has slightly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Core i5-11600K has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-11600K. In terms of clock speed, the Ryzen 7 3800X and Core i5-11600K are identical in this regard. Despite this, the Core i5-11600K has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 7 3800X CPU outputs less heat than a Core i5-11600K CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 3800X has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i5-11600K. The Ryzen 7 3800X also has significantly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 3800X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
