Ryzen 7 3700U vs Core i3-8100T specs and performance
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 7 3700U performs better than the Core i3-8100T. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i3-8100T in all gaming tests too.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Ryzen 7 3700U has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i3-8100T has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 7 3700U. A Ryzen 7 3700U CPU outputs less heat than a Core i3-8100T CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 3700U has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i3-8100T. Despite this, the Core i3-8100T has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 7 3700U.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 3700U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
