Ryzen 7 2700X vs Xeon W-11855M specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Xeon W-11855M is faster than the Ryzen 7 2700X. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 2700X in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Ryzen 7 2700X has slightly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Xeon W-11855M has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Xeon W-11855M. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 7 2700X has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon W-11855M. Despite this, the Xeon W-11855M has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Xeon W-11855M outputs less heat than Ryzen 7 2700X thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 2700X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
