Ryzen 7 2700X vs Xeon E5-2690 v3 comparison

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Xeon E5-2690 v3 performs better than the Ryzen 7 2700X. Despite this, the Ryzen 7 2700X has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Xeon E5-2690 v3 has significantly more cores with 12 cores compared to the Ryzen 7 2700X that has 8 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 7 2700X. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 7 2700X has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon E5-2690 v3. Also, the Ryzen 7 2700X has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 7 2700X CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-2690 v3 CPU because of its slightly lower TDP.
