Ryzen 7 2700X vs Ryzen 5 7430U benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 7 2700X is faster than the Ryzen 5 7430U. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 7430U has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen 7 2700X has slightly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Ryzen 5 7430U that has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 7430U. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 7 2700X has a significantly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 5 7430U. Also, the Ryzen 7 2700X has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Ryzen 5 7430U outputs less heat than Ryzen 7 2700X thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 2700X has slightly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 5 7430U. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 2700X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
