Ryzen 7 2700X vs Core i7-13620H benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i7-13620H performs better than the Ryzen 7 2700X. Despite this, the Ryzen 7 2700X has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i7-13620H has slightly more cores than the Ryzen 7 2700X. Indeed, the Core i7-13620H has 10 cores compared to 8 cores found in the Ryzen 7 2700X. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 7 2700X has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-13620H. Despite this, the Core i7-13620H has a slightly higher turbo speed. In terms of cache, the Core i7-13620H has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Ryzen 7 2700X. The Core i7-13620H also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 2700X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
