Ryzen 7 2700X vs Core i7-1270P benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i7-1270P performs better than the Ryzen 7 2700X. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 2700X in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-1270P has significantly more cores with 12 cores whereas the Ryzen 7 2700X has 8 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 2700X has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-1270P. Despite this, the Core i7-1270P has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i7-1270P outputs less heat than Ryzen 7 2700X thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Core i7-1270P has more L2 cache than the Ryzen 7 2700X. The Core i7-1270P also has slightly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 2700X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
