Ryzen 7 2700U vs Core i5-6600K specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-6600K is faster than the Ryzen 7 2700U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 2700U in all gaming tests too.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Ryzen 7 2700U has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-6600K has a significantly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 7 2700U. Also, the Core i5-6600K has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 7 2700U CPU outputs less heat than a Core i5-6600K CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Ryzen 7 2700U has more L2 cache than the Core i5-6600K. Despite this, the Core i5-6600K has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 7 2700U.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 2700U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
