Ryzen 7 2700 vs Ryzen 5 7535U specs and performance
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 5 7535U performs better than the Ryzen 7 2700. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 2700 in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen 7 2700 has slightly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Ryzen 5 7535U that has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 7535U. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 7 2700 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 5 7535U. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 7535U has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Ryzen 5 7535U outputs less heat than Ryzen 7 2700 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 2700 has slightly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 5 7535U. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 2700 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
