Ryzen 7 1800X vs Ryzen 7 5800X3D specs and performance

In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D beats the Ryzen 7 1800X in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 1800X in all gaming tests too.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 7 1800X has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 7 5800X3D. A Ryzen 7 1800X CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen 7 5800X3D CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, both these CPUs have the same amount of L2 cache. The Ryzen 7 5800X3D also has significantly more L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 1800X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
