Ryzen 7 1800X vs Core i7-1360P comparison

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 7 1800X performs better than the Core i7-1360P. Despite this, the Core i7-1360P has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i7-1360P has significantly more cores than the Ryzen 7 1800X. Indeed, the Core i7-1360P has 12 cores compared to 8 cores found in the Ryzen 7 1800X. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 7 1800X has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-1360P. When comparing cache sizes, these CPUs have an identical amount of L2 cache. The Core i7-1360P also has slightly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 1800X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
