Ryzen 7 1800X vs Core i7-1260P specs and performance

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-1260P is faster than the Ryzen 7 1800X. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 1800X in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i7-1260P has significantly more cores with 12 cores compared to the Ryzen 7 1800X that has 8 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 1800X has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-1260P. The Core i7-1260P outputs less heat than Ryzen 7 1800X thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. When comparing cache sizes, these CPUs have an identical amount of L2 cache. The Core i7-1260P also has slightly more L3 cache.

Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 1800X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
