Ryzen 7 1800X vs Core i3-12100F benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 7 1800X performs better than the Core i3-12100F. Despite this, the Core i3-12100F has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Ryzen 7 1800X has significantly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Core i3-12100F has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i3-12100F. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 1800X has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i3-12100F. The Core i3-12100F outputs less heat than Ryzen 7 1800X thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 1800X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
