Ryzen 7 1700X vs Core i7-6850K comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 7 1700X is faster than the Core i7-6850K. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-6850K in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Ryzen 7 1700X has slightly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Core i7-6850K has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i7-6850K. Our comparison shows that the Core i7-6850K has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 7 1700X. Furthermore, both these CPUs have identical turbo speeds. A Ryzen 7 1700X CPU outputs less heat than a Core i7-6850K CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 1700X has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i7-6850K. The Ryzen 7 1700X also has slightly more L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 1700X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
