Ryzen 7 1700 vs Ryzen 9 5950X specs and performance

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 9 5950X performs better than the Ryzen 7 1700. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 1700 in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen 9 5950X has significantly more cores with 16 cores compared to the Ryzen 7 1700 that has 8 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 7 1700. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 9 5950X has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 7 1700. Also, the Ryzen 9 5950X has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 7 1700 CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen 9 5950X CPU because of its significantly lower TDP.
