Ryzen 7 1700 vs Core i9-11900K comparison

In our benchmarks, the Core i9-11900K beats the Ryzen 7 1700 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 1700 in all gaming tests too.

Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores and the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i9-11900K has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 7 1700. Also, the Core i9-11900K has a significantly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 7 1700 CPU outputs less heat than a Core i9-11900K CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The data shows that both these CPUs have same sized L2 caches and L3 cache.

Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 1700 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
