Ryzen 5 PRO 4650GE vs Ryzen 7 6800HS benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 7 6800HS beats the Ryzen 5 PRO 4650GE in overall performance. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 PRO 4650GE has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen 7 6800HS has slightly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Ryzen 5 PRO 4650GE that has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 PRO 4650GE. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 5 PRO 4650GE has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 7 6800HS. Despite this, the Ryzen 7 6800HS has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 7 6800HS has slightly more L2 cache when compared to the Ryzen 5 PRO 4650GE. The Ryzen 7 6800HS also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 PRO 4650GE has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
