Ryzen 5 PRO 2500U vs Core i3-N300 specs and performance
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 5 PRO 2500U performs better than the Core i3-N300. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i3-N300 in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i3-N300 has significantly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Ryzen 5 PRO 2500U that has 4 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 5 PRO 2500U has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i3-N300. Despite this, the Core i3-N300 has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i3-N300 outputs less heat than Ryzen 5 PRO 2500U thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core i3-N300 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Ryzen 5 PRO 2500U. The Core i3-N300 also has significantly more L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 PRO 2500U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
