Ryzen 5 8600G vs Ryzen 7 8700F benchmarks

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 7 8700F performs better than the Ryzen 5 8600G. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 5 8600G in all gaming tests too.

With info from our database, we find that the Ryzen 7 8700F has slightly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Ryzen 5 8600G has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 8600G. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 5 8600G has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 7 8700F. In addition, both chips have the same turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 8700F has slightly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 5 8600G. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 8600G has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
