Ryzen 5 8600G vs Core i9-9900KS specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 5 8600G is faster than the Core i9-9900KS. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i9-9900KS in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i9-9900KS has slightly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Ryzen 5 8600G has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 8600G. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 5 8600G has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i9-9900KS. Furthermore, both these CPUs have identical turbo speeds. A Ryzen 5 8600G CPU outputs less heat than a Core i9-9900KS CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Ryzen 5 8600G has more L2 cache than the Core i9-9900KS. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 8600G has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
