Ryzen 5 5600X vs Ryzen 7 5700X specs and performance

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 7 5700X performs better than the Ryzen 5 5600X. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 5600X has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

With info from our database, we find that the Ryzen 7 5700X has slightly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Ryzen 5 5600X has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 5600X. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 5 5600X has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 7 5700X. Furthermore, both these CPUs have identical turbo speeds. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 5700X has slightly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 5 5600X. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 5600X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
