Ryzen 5 5600X vs Ryzen 7 1800X benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 5 5600X is faster than the Ryzen 7 1800X. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 7 1800X in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen 7 1800X has slightly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Ryzen 5 5600X that has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 5600X. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 5 5600X has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 7 1800X. A Ryzen 5 5600X CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen 7 1800X CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Ryzen 7 1800X has more L2 cache than the Ryzen 5 5600X. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 5600X has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 7 1800X.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 5600X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
