Ryzen 5 5600X vs Core i7-1255U benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 5 5600X performs better than the Core i7-1255U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-1255U in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-1255U has significantly more cores with 10 cores whereas the Ryzen 5 5600X has 6 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 5600X has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-1255U. Despite this, the Core i7-1255U has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i7-1255U outputs less heat than Ryzen 5 5600X thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core i7-1255U has slightly more L2 cache when compared to the Ryzen 5 5600X. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 5600X has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Core i7-1255U.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 5600X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
