Ryzen 5 5600H vs Ryzen 7 4800HS comparison
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 7 4800HS beats the Ryzen 5 5600H in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 5 5600H in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Ryzen 7 4800HS has slightly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Ryzen 5 5600H has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 5600H. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 5 5600H has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 7 4800HS. In addition, both chips have the same turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 7 4800HS has slightly more L2 cache when compared to the Ryzen 5 5600H. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 5600H has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 7 4800HS.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 5600H has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
