Ryzen 5 5600H vs Core i7-8700K specs and performance

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 5 5600H performs better than the Core i7-8700K. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-8700K in all gaming tests too.

Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores and the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i7-8700K has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 5 5600H. Also, the Core i7-8700K has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 5 5600H CPU outputs less heat than a Core i7-8700K CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 5 5600H has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i7-8700K. The Ryzen 5 5600H also has slightly more L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 5600H has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
