Ryzen 5 5600G vs Ryzen Threadripper 3960X comparison

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen Threadripper 3960X performs better than the Ryzen 5 5600G. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 5 5600G in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen Threadripper 3960X has significantly more cores with 24 cores compared to the Ryzen 5 5600G that has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 5600G. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 5 5600G has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen Threadripper 3960X. Despite this, the Ryzen Threadripper 3960X has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 5 5600G CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen Threadripper 3960X CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen Threadripper 3960X has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Ryzen 5 5600G. The Ryzen Threadripper 3960X also has significantly more L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 5600G has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
