Ryzen 5 5600G vs Core i7-13700K comparison

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 5 5600G performs better than the Core i7-13700K. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-13700K in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i7-13700K has significantly more cores with 16 cores compared to the Ryzen 5 5600G that has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 5600G. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 5 5600G has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-13700K. Despite this, the Core i7-13700K has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 5 5600G CPU outputs less heat than a Core i7-13700K CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i7-13700K has significantly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 5 5600G. The Core i7-13700K also has significantly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 5600G has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
