Ryzen 5 5600 vs Ryzen 7 PRO 3700 benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 7 PRO 3700 is faster than the Ryzen 5 5600. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 5600 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Ryzen 7 PRO 3700 has slightly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Ryzen 5 5600 has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 5600. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 7 PRO 3700 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 5 5600. In addition, both chips have the same turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 PRO 3700 has slightly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 5 5600. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 5600 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
