Ryzen 5 5500GT vs Ryzen 5 PRO 5655G benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 5 PRO 5655G performs better than the Ryzen 5 5500GT. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 5 5500GT in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen 5 PRO 5655G has significantly more cores with 6 cores compared to the Ryzen 5 5500GT that has 3 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 5500GT. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 5 PRO 5655G has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 5 5500GT. Furthermore, both these CPUs have identical turbo speeds. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The data shows that both these CPUs have same sized L2 caches and L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 5500GT has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
