Ryzen 5 4600U vs Core i7-9700K benchmarks

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i7-9700K performs better than the Ryzen 5 4600U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 5 4600U in all gaming tests too.

With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-9700K has slightly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Ryzen 5 4600U has 6 cores. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 4600U has more threads than the Core i7-9700K. Our comparison shows that the Core i7-9700K has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 5 4600U. A Ryzen 5 4600U CPU outputs less heat than a Core i7-9700K CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 5 4600U has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i7-9700K. Despite this, the Core i7-9700K has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 5 4600U.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 4600U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
