Ryzen 5 4600H vs Core i7-8086K specs and performance

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-8086K is faster than the Ryzen 5 4600H. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 5 4600H in all gaming tests too.

Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i7-8086K has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 5 4600H. A Ryzen 5 4600H CPU outputs less heat than a Core i7-8086K CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 4600H has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i7-8086K. Despite this, the Core i7-8086K has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 5 4600H.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 4600H has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
