Ryzen 5 4600H vs Core i7-10870H comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-10870H is faster than the Ryzen 5 4600H. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 5 4600H in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-10870H has slightly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Ryzen 5 4600H has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 4600H. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 5 4600H has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-10870H. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 4600H has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i7-10870H. Despite this, the Core i7-10870H has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 5 4600H.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 4600H has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
