Ryzen 5 4600G vs Ryzen 7 3700X benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 7 3700X performs better than the Ryzen 5 4600G. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 5 4600G in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Ryzen 7 3700X has slightly more cores than the Ryzen 5 4600G. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 3700X has 8 cores compared to 6 cores found in the Ryzen 5 4600G. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 4600G. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 5 4600G has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 7 3700X. Despite this, the Ryzen 7 3700X has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Ryzen 7 3700X has more L2 cache than the Ryzen 5 4600G. The Ryzen 7 3700X also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 4600G has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
