Ryzen 5 4600G vs A8-9600 benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 5 4600G beats the A8-9600 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the A8-9600 in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Ryzen 5 4600G has significantly more cores with 6 cores whereas the A8-9600 has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the A8-9600. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 4600G has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the A8-9600. Also, the Ryzen 5 4600G has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 4600G has significantly more L2 cache than the A8-9600
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 4600G has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
