Ryzen 5 4500U vs Xeon W-2123 benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Xeon W-2123 beats the Ryzen 5 4500U in overall performance. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 4500U has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Ryzen 5 4500U has significantly more cores than the Xeon W-2123. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 4500U has 6 cores compared to 4 cores found in the Xeon W-2123. Despite this, the Xeon W-2123 has more threads than the Ryzen 5 4500U. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Xeon W-2123 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 5 4500U. A Ryzen 5 4500U CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon W-2123 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 5 4500U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
