Ryzen 5 4500U vs Ryzen 7 5700U benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 7 5700U performs better than the Ryzen 5 4500U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 5 4500U in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen 7 5700U has slightly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Ryzen 5 4500U that has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 4500U. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 5 4500U has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 7 5700U. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 7 5700U has slightly more L2 cache when compared to the Ryzen 5 4500U. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 5 4500U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
