Ryzen 5 4500U vs Ryzen 5 PRO 3400G benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 5 4500U beats the Ryzen 5 PRO 3400G in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 5 PRO 3400G in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen 5 4500U has significantly more cores with 6 cores compared to the Ryzen 5 PRO 3400G that has 4 cores. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 PRO 3400G has more threads than the Ryzen 5 4500U. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 5 PRO 3400G has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 5 4500U. Also, the Ryzen 5 PRO 3400G has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 5 4500U CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen 5 PRO 3400G CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 5 4500U has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Ryzen 5 PRO 3400G. The Ryzen 5 4500U also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 5 4500U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
