Ryzen 5 4500U vs Ryzen 5 7520U specs and performance
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 5 4500U performs better than the Ryzen 5 7520U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 5 7520U in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Ryzen 5 4500U has significantly more cores than the Ryzen 5 7520U. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 4500U has 6 cores compared to 4 cores found in the Ryzen 5 7520U. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 7520U has more threads than the Ryzen 5 4500U. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 5 7520U has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 5 4500U. Also, the Ryzen 5 7520U has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 4500U has significantly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 5 7520U. The Ryzen 5 4500U also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 5 4500U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
