Ryzen 5 4500U vs FX-6300 specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 5 4500U is faster than the FX-6300. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the FX-6300 in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Ryzen 5 4500U has significantly more cores with 6 cores whereas the FX-6300 has 3 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the FX-6300 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 5 4500U. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 4500U has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 5 4500U CPU outputs less heat than a FX-6300 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the FX-6300 has significantly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 5 4500U. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Ryzen 5 4500U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
