Ryzen 5 4500U vs EPYC 7543P specs and performance
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 5 4500U performs better than the EPYC 7543P. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the EPYC 7543P in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the EPYC 7543P has significantly more cores with 32 cores compared to the Ryzen 5 4500U that has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 4500U. With our hardware info, we find that the EPYC 7543P has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 5 4500U. A Ryzen 5 4500U CPU outputs less heat than a EPYC 7543P CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the EPYC 7543P has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Ryzen 5 4500U. The EPYC 7543P also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 5 4500U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
