Ryzen 5 4500U vs Core i7-8700T specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 5 4500U is faster than the Core i7-8700T. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-8700T in all gaming tests too.
Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count but the Core i7-8700T has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i7-8700T has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 5 4500U. In addition, both chips have the same turbo speed. A Ryzen 5 4500U CPU outputs less heat than a Core i7-8700T CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 5 4500U has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i7-8700T. Despite this, the Core i7-8700T has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 5 4500U.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Ryzen 5 4500U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
