Ryzen 5 4500U vs Core i7-1265U comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-1265U is faster than the Ryzen 5 4500U. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 4500U has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i7-1265U has significantly more cores with 10 cores compared to the Ryzen 5 4500U that has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 4500U. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 5 4500U has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-1265U. Despite this, the Core i7-1265U has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Core i7-1265U has more L2 cache than the Ryzen 5 4500U. The Core i7-1265U also has significantly more L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Ryzen 5 4500U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
