Ryzen 5 4500U vs Core i7-10850H specs and performance
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i7-10850H performs better than the Ryzen 5 4500U. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 4500U has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores but the Core i7-10850H has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i7-10850H has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 5 4500U. A Ryzen 5 4500U CPU outputs less heat than a Core i7-10850H CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 5 4500U has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i7-10850H. Despite this, the Core i7-10850H has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 5 4500U.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 5 4500U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
