Ryzen 5 4500U vs Core i5-1235U benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-1235U is faster than the Ryzen 5 4500U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 5 4500U in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i5-1235U has significantly more cores with 10 cores whereas the Ryzen 5 4500U has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 4500U. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 5 4500U has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-1235U. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Ryzen 5 4500U has more L2 cache than the Core i5-1235U. Despite this, the Core i5-1235U has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 5 4500U.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Ryzen 5 4500U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
