Ryzen 5 4500U vs Core i5-11400H benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-11400H is faster than the Ryzen 5 4500U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 5 4500U in all gaming tests too.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Core i5-11400H has more threads. Our comparison shows that the Core i5-11400H has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 5 4500U. A Ryzen 5 4500U CPU outputs less heat than a Core i5-11400H CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i5-11400H has significantly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 5 4500U. The Core i5-11400H also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 5 4500U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
